At The Great Care Company, we’re proud of the care services we have the privilege of providing to our lovely family of clients. We believe that home care is more than just a service, it’s an opportunity to make a positive change to someone’s life and that’s exactly what we aim to do.
So we went to meet Eileen at her charming home where we presented her with a beautiful bouquet of flowers as a little thank you for giving us her time to chat about her experience with us.
Of course first things first, so Tanya our wonderful carer, put the kettle on (she makes a fantastic cup of tea) which set us up nicely for a chat about The Great Care Company and our home care services.
Our Day With Eileen
Eileen is a delightful and interesting lady who began telling us about her career before retirement 30 years ago. Eileen worked for the council when it was Great Grimsby Borough Council she said: “I used to do the expenses for the councilors as in those days the councilors didn’t get paid, only expenses.”
We went on to talk about why and how she chose The Great Care Company to support her. Eileen said, “I wanted to find a company who valued and treated their staff well as my previous care provider didn’t see this as a priority, so I sought someone who would be more caring.”
“My Daughter went through everyone in Lincolnshire and she found you, in Louth, where she was so delighted with your explanations and the help she received from you that she immediately made arrangements to meet your staff.”
“The first member of staff who came to me was very helpful but now I have Tanya and she’s even more helpful.” Tanya makes me feel very safe and secure. She helps me in the bath and out again. Tanya really has made my life much better and much happier because she’s been such a good friend.”
Eileen told us, with a smile on her face, that when Tanya knocks at the door and says “How are you?” I reply with “all the better for seeing you!” and they smiled at each other nodding. It was lovely to see the special relationship that they’d clearly formed together.
Why Eileen Prefers Home Care...
We asked Eileen why she chose home care and not a residential home and her reply was that “I like being surrounded by all my own things, family photographs and things that have belonged to people before me and above all its home.” She went on to say “a care home wouldn’t be the same to me” and we have to agree with Eileen it’s a homely home with a lovely atmosphere. Eileen added “It’s lovely to be able to invite my family around and they can call on me anytime.”
We asked if Eileen had a message for anyone looking at home care or searching for a provider. She said “look no further than The Great Care Company, they’re so helpful, so homely and so caring. I’ve been so satisfied and if I had to describe the company in 3 words I’d choose Caring, Friendly, in fact Wonderful!”
