With the Chelsea flower show opening its doors to the public today we thought it would be fitting to share our favourite garden with you from previous exhibits.
Gardening and nature have long been known for their relaxing qualities. A place for humans to find tranquillity and well-being, gardening can help reduce stress and provide mental clarity. Knowing you have created a wonderful, calming place that can fill the soul with feelings of reward and pleasure. Not to mention once the hard work is done you can relax, sit back, admire your garden and listen of the birds with a nice cup of tea.
Along with the mental benefits come the all-important physical benefits. Food gardening can be particularly gratifying and an excellent source of fresh produce. From soil preparation to the joy of harvesting, there is always something to do, during the growing season! If you have ever spent a summer gardening, you know that these tasks can serve as great exercise.
Back to Chelsea, the most famous flower show in the UK, and perhaps the world, attracting flower and garden lovers from all continents.
One of our favourite gardens from past events is designer Jekka McVicar, who created “A Modern Apothecary” for St John's Hospice. She truly has captured the theme of improving our own health, both physically and mentally, with this garden design. She says “the garden is about health and well-being. Everything in it - from rosemary and fennel to the sound of running water - can be good for body and mind” She spoke to doctors, carers and artists before creating the garden, which is about the "power of plants".
This makes “A Modern Apothecary” The Great Care Companies favourite garden. So make the most of summer by creating your own beautiful garden, enjoy the great outdoors and have fun whilst keeping active.
