The Extra Mile Fund Is Launched To Help Our Clients, Staff And Families.

Are you struggling and need a little bit of help? Maybe you’re a Carer who just wants to go that extra mile for a client?

This past year has presented extraordinary challenges for us all. We at the Great Care Company understand and recognise that our clients and their families have not been immune to those challenges. The Great Care Company would like to help out in whatever ways we can help.

What is the Extra Mile Fund?

We at the Great Care Company are extremely proud of the exceptional staff we have working with us. The staff are willing and regularly go beyond the call of duty for our clients. The idea of the fund came about after hearing about the kind acts that our teams have already done over the last few years. Managers, seniors, and home care assistants have sometimes spent their own money to go the Extra Mile for our clients.

Hearing about this selfless dedication from our staff fills us with enormous pride. By creating this official fund, we want to ensure our teams have the full resources they need to go the Extra Mile whilst still providing the outstanding service to our clients they are known for. This fund has been launched alongside The Extra Mile Cup which rewards our teams to go the Extra Mile with our clients.

What can the Extra Mile Fund be used for?

To access the fund, all our staff need to do is make an application. When applying for financial support from the Extra Mile Fund they only need to consider three questions

1. Is your idea a normal part of your day-to-day job?

2. Would the person you’re organising this for really benefit from your idea?

3. Would your idea be a positive surprise to the person you’re organising it for and any other people who will hear about it?

If the answer ‘yes’ to each of these three questions, then we will always encourage our staff to submit an application.

How can the Extra Mile Fund help our clients?

The Extra Mile is there to help our clients, carers and families during unexpected and sometimes expected things happening in life. This fund can be used for anything from free home visits to supporting them in a crisis.

The Great Care Company is pleased to announce that since February we’ve been able to offer our clients over 90 hours of free care.

  • We have helped a client whose boiler broke down by purchasing heaters
  • We have purchased items such as nightstands for clients
  • We have helped clients with food shopping when their cupboards were bare
  • We also had staff bake cakes for some of our clients to brighten up their days.

How can our clients and their families get involved?

We really would like to hear from you with your suggestions or ideas about going the extra mile for someone.
