You may leave the hospital feeling you could benefit from someone supporting you with a range of tasks until you can recover and support yourself.
Rehabilitation Care from The Great Care Company gives you the chance to recuperate in the comfort of your own home, rather than being transferred to a residential home or experience an extended stay in the hospital. Many people recover faster in a familiar and reassuring environment.
Rehabilitation is primarily about restoring you to your maximum capability, physically, mentally and socially.
If necessary, a whole host of people could be working together with you and your family to help you recover. A team including nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and speech therapists as well as our Care Assistants can combine their expertise in the aim to promote recovery and maximise your independence, dignity and respect.
All of our Care Assistants are fully vetted and trained, and in addition, we strengthen their knowledge with on-going training to give them the opportunity them to provide the best support possible. Our in-house training involves First Aid Awareness and Infection Control, as well as Parkinson’s Care, End of Life Care, Autism Care, Alcohol Awareness Care, MS Care, Dementia Care and much more.
How Much Does Rehabilitation Care Cost?
Depending on your condition upon discharge from the hospital, you may be offered “intermediate care” or “rehablement care” by the NHS. This short rehabilitation programme usually lasts for no longer than six weeks and the hospital provides us with all your details so that The Great Care Co. can work hard to ensure that you receive the support you need. If the individual’s condition requires specific therapeutic treatment (such as speech therapy or physiotherapy following a stroke), this can continue an outpatient basis for longer periods of time.
If on-going care is still required at the end of the six-week period, funding from social services may be available.
