However, if you missed our last article, then we’d be thrilled to tell you once again about how Georgia has received this well-deserved award win.
Georgia was nominated for continuously striving to do more. Whether that was by baking goods for her lovely clients or taking on additional responsibilities to progress within her role. Since starting with us she has become the Parkinson’s Champion in her team and is continuously going the extra mile for the clients she supports.
However, it’s not just one award we want to celebrate

Our team in York was highly recommended for their award because, like Georgia, they are always aiming to do more for their clients. Our favourite story was of a client who was finding it difficult to communicate with our team because of limited English. To tackle this, the York office contributed an electronic tablet that would allow the client to translate her words. The result was the client was able to effectively communicate her needs, which put her mind at ease and allowed her to build a strong relationship with our team. They are already a Care Award winner in Yorkshire, and we’re sure that they will have another care Award win in the coming years.

Highly Commended – The Great Care Company – The Care Innovator Award
The Care Innovator Award recognition came from the combined efforts of our head office and local office teams with the rollout of our Employee Hours and Extra Mile Scheme.
We care as much about the health and well-being of our staff as we do about the people we care for. As a result, we put forward a new Employee Hours Scheme and Extra Mile fund. This scheme was rolled out to replace all 0-hour contracts and give our staff members an added level of peace of mind and job security. Not only that, it creates additional resources to help offer extra support to our clients, with amazing things such as free care, random kind acts, or even additional funding in times of need.

Highly Commended – Amy Jones – The Home Care Worker Award
Finally, The Home Carer Award was highly recommended for Amy. For Amy, going above and beyond in her role was picking up supplies and medication for her clients in lockdown. She often spends additional time with her clients to have a cup of tea and a chat to ensure everything is ok. As you can imagine, lockdown was very hard for a lot of our clients who were living alone. Having Amy to rely on for supplies and company meant the world to the people that she cared for.

These are amazing achievements for The Great Care Company. It’s the first time that we have won an award from The Great British Care Award and we would like to take the time to thank all of our team for the hard work and award-winning service they deliver.
