Bringing a Warm Glow to the Festive Season
Handmade Christmas jars bring warmth into a home, especially when they glow on a winter evening. This year, Caroline—our Senior Mentor and Quality Lead at The Great Care Company—has created a beautiful collection of handmade Christmas jars as well as light-up acrylic Christmas orbs, each made from scratch and fitted with LED lights.
Rather than being simple decorations, these handmade gifts are miniature festive scenes. Each one is carefully assembled, finished, and styled by hand. As a result, every piece feels personal, thoughtful, and genuinely unique.
To enhance the festive feel, Caroline has added hanging baubles, pinecones, and berries around the tops of several orbs. Some are finished with bold red poinsettias, while others use gold-toned florals for a more traditional look. Meanwhile, the bases vary too—some are trimmed with gold, while others have red edging, which gives a more vibrant finish.
When the LEDs are switched on, the acrylic orbs transform into soft, glowing centrepieces. The light diffuses through the snowy base and highlights the miniature details inside. Because of that warm illumination, the orbs feel cosy and calming, particularly during darker winter evenings.
Across the pieces, you will notice:
- Evergreen foliage arranged like winter garlands
- Red berries and pinecones for texture and depth
- Hanging baubles that add sparkle and movement
- Statement bows and poinsettias for bold festive colour
- Gold accents and glitter finishes for a classic seasonal look
In short, Caroline has not created one “set design” repeated multiple times. Instead, she has built a collection where each piece looks intentional and one-of-a-kind.
