Five reasons why we love Yorkshire

Yorkshire is steeped in centuries of history and has served as a home to the Celts, Romans, Vikings and Normans, as well as our ancestors the Angles and the Saxons. A walk through the cobbled streets of York will take you on a trip back to the past thanks to the stunning castles, grand cathedrals and quaint pubs aligning the route.

If you’ve ever visited the Dales then this one needs no clarification. The miles of greenery and rolling hills dotted with sheep makes for one of the most beautiful sights you could ever wish to come across in life.

That phrase keeps popping up, but when you live in a place as beautiful as Yorkshire you’re proud as punch about it. Whether you enjoy living by the coast, in the midst of the bustling city or in the heart of the countryside, this great county has everything you could possibly want.

It’s hard to imagine a Sunday roast without the accompaniment of a Yorkshire pudding overflowing with gravy. Yorkshire has created some of the finest and most famous dishes in English cuisine, including Wensleydale cheese, ginger beer and one of our favourite childhood classics, Liquorice Allsorts.

The rugged countryside, white sand beaches and charming fishing villages offer the perfect place to sit down and take in the views of the seaside whilst enjoying some of the freshest fish and chips around.
